About me

See Beyond is a photography and storytelling project that explores human connection through portraits and conversations.

The idea was born in Sevilla, where I stayed for a while after leaving the UK because of political changes. Leaving the UK — a place where I had built friendships, collaborations, and a sense of belonging was difficult. It felt as if circumstances beyond my control were suddenly deciding where I could live and what my life should look like. In that moment, I needed to reconnect with myself and find a way to reclaim my voice.

Photography had already been an important part of my life. In Brighton, I worked with bands, artists, students, and creative communities. I was always drawn to observing people and capturing authentic moments in a world that often feels like it is constantly performing.

What has always fascinated me is the depth behind every person. I love exchange with people — discovering who they are, where they come from, and what drives them. When we walk past strangers in the street, we rarely realize that each of them carries a story, a passion, and a way of seeing the world.

See Beyond is about giving space to those stories.

Through portraits and conversations, the project invites people to share who they are, what they believe in, and what inspires them. It is a way of elevating voices and reminding us that every individual experience matters. We all have something to say, something to create, and something to contribute.

During this journey, I have also had the chance to meet artists and creators who have built recognition in their fields. These encounters inspired a recurring question within the project: **what makes someone an artist?** When do we feel legitimate to create and showing who we really are?

The more conversations I had, the clearer it became that beyond titles and recognition, we are simply human beings expressing ourselves in different ways.

Through photography, I capture moments where people freely express what they love, what they believe in, and how they see the world. These encounters feel magical and deeply inspiring.

With See Beyond, I hope to share these stories with a wider audience, creating connections between people and perspectives. The project is an invitation to look beyond appearances, to listen to one another, and to recognize the humanity we all share.
